For my husband and I, date night is something like a big deal. Date night is that coveted time when we are able to decompress and enjoy each other simply as husband and wife. And while the idea of date night is a beautiful thing, the reality is that date night has become a rare occasion.
More often than not, we have to jump so many hurdles to get to the finish-line that is date night. Between the busy schedules of our school-aged children and the unpredictability of our toddler, having "alone-time" outside of the home almost seems impossible for us. Cuddle-time is now replaced with a snoring husband to the left and an energetic two year old (and all of his superhero action figures) to the right. And once you throw hubby's busy work schedule in the mix, chances of getting a date put on the calendar can be really slim.
During the holiday season, however, date night becomes more of a possibility. Hubby has more time off from work and the children are able to spend more time visiting relatives. So you can imagine that when the opportunity presents itself, I want to make sure that nothing stands in the way of us having a good time.
For our upcoming date night, I have devised a plan. I have stashed some date night essentials in my purse to prepare for the unexpected, ensuring that our night alone goes off without a hitch. Below are three items one wouldn't normally think to bring on date night, but will prepare you for those little discomforts that are known to happen.
May take 1 to 4 days for full effect. Use as directed. |
Since we don't dine out alone as often as we used to, my husband and I have a tendency to over-indulge during the dinner portion of our date. Big hearty steaks and mouth-watering ribs are my husband's weakness, while large portions of pastas cooked in rich sauces are mine. These rare but satisfying treats are probably why our date nights end with both of us fighting heartburn, though. Now that I have a bottle of Nexium 24HR in my bag, I feel that we can enjoy our favorite meals without having to worry about the aftermath.
Advanced liquid fast relief. Use as directed. |
And if headaches and occasional heartburn aren't enough to fight on date night, the cool temperatures that have finally settled in the south could threaten to leave at least one of us with the coughing, sneezing, running nose, and aching bug. It happens to the best of us right? That's why I have these packets of Emergen-C Vitamin C Drink Mix to sip on with water before we leave for extra immune support. With over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, fix, and FUN you're looking for.
Would you have thought to purchase these items to prepare for a date?
And the greatest thing about these items is if I happen to forget something, I can always run to the nearest Walmart and grab them up!
