Valentine's Day Night Makeup | Pink Ombré Lips

Now that we're a week into February, many of us are knee-deep in planning for this upcoming Valentine's Day. While I haven't made any plans as of yet, I do always like to map out in my mind what I'm going to wear for the occasion.  Once I figure out where I'm going and what I'm going to wear, I like to plan out my makeup as well. And since I've figured out how I want to wear my makeup if date night is in the plans, I knew I had to share it here with you guys! My goal was to share a makeup idea that could be worn on date night with bae or on a fun girl's night out with your Galentine(s).
One beauty trend I've been embracing lately is the ombré lip. I know what you're thinking---Dre, you are late! Ombré lips are soooo 2013! And maybe I am a little tardy to the party, but I still adore them. Besides, attention-grabbing lipstick is always perfect for a night out on the town. Since fucshia is my favorite color, I decided I'd abandon my favorite Ruby Woo red look for a more fun, fuchsia and pink blended pout. This is what I came up with.

For my pink ombré lips look, I simply applied a deep fuchsia lippie and blended it with a light pink one. I used MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Lickable and applied a bit of  MAC Lipglass in Pink Poodle  for extra shine. I then applied MAC Lipglass in Stay Sweet (LE from the Archie Girls Collection) to the middle of my lips and blended inward with my finger.

For my brows, I filled in the sparse areas with Milani Brow Tint Pen in Dark Brown. I lightly cleaned up the arch with MAC Studio Fix Concealer in NC42.

For my eyes, I primed my lids with the original Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. I then defined my crease with the dark brown matte shadow (far right) in the NYX Natural Eyeshadow Palette. I applied e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in Glamorous to my lid and blended both shadows. To give my lid a little definition, I applied a bit of the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in Sweet (the light pink shade) to the middle of my lid. Unfortunately, the pictures did not do the eyeshadow look justice! I then created a winged cat-eye with my Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner. After cleaning up the fallout from the mineral eyeshadows, I applied two coats of Smashbox X-Rated Mascara in Black to my lashes. And for a little drama, I lined the outer bottom corner of my lashline with a random black eyeliner.

And for my face, I primed with Trust Fund Beauty Gimme Good Face. I added a light touch of MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC42 to my undereye area with my middle finger. Then I applied KISS New York Aqua Beauty Balm in Medium all over my face. Guys, I really love this beauty balm! It has the coverage of a foundation! And to keep it all the way toned down, I just added a light contour from the Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette.

If you'd like to recreate this look, many of these items can be swapped for some you already have in your stash. All you need is a light pink eyeshadow, a purple eyeshadow, a matte brown eyeshadow, and a contour powder. And though I didn't even add blush to this look, you could totally rock a pretty mauve or plum blush with this look perfectly. Now for the ombre lips, as long as you have a deep fuchsia lipstick or lipliner and a light pink lipgloss (or even an iridescent/pearl eyeshadow) you can create the same effect.

How will you be rocking your makeup for Valentine's Day?
