What lipsticks have you been reaching for the most this summer? My beautiful blogger friend
Chantel and I have been talking about lipstick favorites lately and decided we should share some together on our blogs. Chantel is a dope beauty writer that blogs over at
Chantel Keona and keeps her readers on trend with the latest beauty and style finds! I couldn't wait to collaborate with her to collectively share a few of our seasonal favorites with our readers. The trouble is, however, I have so many lipstick favorites. This summer I have been picking up shades randomly, as my mood saw fit, so I had no clue how I would narrow them down. Then I had the perfect idea that brought my transitioning makeup bag to mind.
One of my favorite things about transitioning from season to season is updating my makeup bag. And while we have plenty more warm days of summer left, I thought I would start thinking about my transitions early. As I'm transitioning my lipsticks from summer shades to fall shades, I pulled a few of my favorites that I knew would transition well from one season to the next. So without further adieu, check out my picks below!
1. MAYBELLINE STAY MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN CREATOR | Back in the spring, I did a review on the Maybelline Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks and quite honestly, Creator has been holding it down in my makeup bag since then. She's a vivid, yet flattering shade that I can't wait to keep rocking in the fall. You can find Creator in your local drugstores for about $8. here.
2. NYX LIQUID SUEDE CREAM LIPSTICK IN SANDSTORM | This lipstick is waterproof and lasts for as long as you want to rock it. It's formulated with vitamin E, so it isn't uncomfortable to wear as a matte lip cream. Sandstorm also serves as the perfect nude, everyday lippie to rock alone or with a gloss and liner. I like to wear mine with my Jordana lipliner in Coco Loco. You can find Sandstorm at your local
Ulta for about $5.
3. MAC VIVA GLAM TARAJI P. HENSON LIPSTICK | Last summer I fell in love with the beauty that is MAC Viva Glam Taraji. You guys know how I brake for fuchsia lipsticks, right? Well as much as I love Taraji P. Henson and fuchsia lipsticks, I knew I had to give it a try. Unlike most of my fuchsia lippies, this one has a satin finish and lasts a long time without the drying consistency of a matte. She has a slight shimmer and buildable color that you can build up or pare down.
4. BITE BEAUTY AMUSE BOUCHE LIPSTICK IN GAZPACHO | This lipstick is one of the creamiest, most moisturizing red lipsticks I have ever worn! Described as a "true-blue red," Gazpacho applies smooth with a punch of color and leaves a satin finish. If I would transition any red from the summer to fall, it would be this beauty. She's bold, vivid, and easy to wear. You can find her at your local Sephora store or online
here. Gazpacho retails for $26.
5. THE LIP BAR LIPSTICK IN PURPLE RAIN | Purple Rain was my first ever lipstick purchase from The Lip Bar. And of course, you know I had to have the color because of my love of Prince. This lipstick is vegan, cruelty free, and is super moisturizing! It's formulated with shea butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, and Vitamin E. The color is a beautiful purple shade that can easily be worn in any season, but I already know I'll be carrying her from the summer straight into the fall with no problems. Purple Rain can now be found in your local Target or online
here and she retails for $12.
6. MILANI COLOR STATEMENT LIPSTICK IN FLIRTY FUCHSIA | If you've been here for a while, you know I love Milani Color Statement Lipsticks. Not only do they have a great range of shades, they're super affordable, and they smell like fruit punch! Flirty Fuchsia, is just that, a beautiful flirty shade that has no problem adjusting from your summer makeup bag to your fall beauty line up. Flirty Fuchsia can be found at virtually any drugstore and retails for $5.
This fall, I plan to make room for each of these lipsticks in my makeup bag. They are serving me well this summer and they all make me feel amazing when I wear them. To find more lipstick inspiration, check out Chantel's lipstick post over at
