If you've been reading here for a while, you already know how obsessed I am with lipstick. It holds a special place in my heart and my makeup bag, so I have a tendency to ramble about it. Besides, the only thing better than lipstick is NEW lipstick. So you also know talks of new lipstick send my antennas all the way up!
Earlier this spring, I had the chance to try out Pixi Beauty's MatteLast Liquid Lip and was quite impressed. And no sooner than I heard they had new additions to the collection, I received a beautiful package from Pixi that included their entire Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip Collection. I couldn't wait to try out the five new shades so that I could share them with you guys here and possibly add them to my winter beauty arsenal.
But did they make the cut, though? Read below the jump to find out!
According to the Pixi Beauty website, these liquid lip products are "long-wearing, comfortable, and universally flattering." As you can see here, I've already given a review for previously released shades. Here, I basically wanted to give a little show and tell for the newbies.
Below are the liquid lipsticks I received (left to right, top to bottom)-- Peony Pink, Orange Red, Real Red, Berry Boost, and last but not least, Prettiest Pink.
Peony Pink is a light blue-based pink. It's a bit light for my everyday wear, but I am going to love wearing this paired with a hot pink or purple liner for an ombre effect.
Orange Red is just as described-- an in-your-face, bright, warm-toned orange red. You don't need a liner at all for this gorgeous red lippie.
Real Red is a true cool-toned red lippie. If you're looking for that perfect, universally flattering, grown woman red lipstick, this baby here will show up for you. And again, no liner necessary to pull this lippie off.
Berry Boost is a deep berry that's absolutely perfect for the fall and winter seasons. It's another universally flattering shade that doesn't require a lip liner. I will probably be reaching for this lippie the most this season.
Prettiest Pink is my favorite of the bunch, so I had to single this one out! Mirror Mirror on the wall, which is the prettiest pink of them all? This darling fuchsia is, of course. It packs a punch of color and really stands out among the other lipsticks in the line for me. It can be worn in any season and will look great on any skin tone, in my opinion.
As you can see from my smile in the above pics, I'm feeling the new additions to the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip line. The new shades provide more variety to the overall line, adding options that will flatter any complexion.
Of course, the new color options are an added bonus to the formula I've already given props to. These liquid lipsticks have a smooth consistency that isn't thick, yet applies evenly. And the unique applicator makes swiping these babies on a breeze.
