According to the Milani website, the Bold Color Statement Matte Lipsticks are "extra in the best way." Now doesn't that sound like a lipstick you would feel confident wearing? These lipsticks have a guaranteed "no smudge, won't budge" formula that boasts to last all day.
Most matte lipsticks I've purchased in the past have lived up to their promises to be long-lasting, but haven't always proven to be the most comfortable to wear. That's why I was so excited to see how well these held up over time.
Below are swatches of the lipsticks I've purchased so far (left to right)-- I AM FIERCE, I AM BOLD, and I AM POWERFUL.
I AM FIERCE is a true matte red that will shock your socks off, if you aren't careful. Around these parts, however, we are fans of that full-bodied red lip and I believe they are a necessary staple in every girl's beauty arsenal. This baby is not for the faint of heart: I AM FIERCE will enter the room with you, show up + out for you, and leave an impression on everyone you encounter while wearing it. Will you feel fierce when rocking it? I sure do. And I feel confident in knowing that it will last for hours on end without drying my lips out. Matte reds are pretty popular these days, so finding a dupe would be a breeze. Those dupes, however, won't come with the I AM FIERCE affirmation and complimentary pep-in-our-step, though.
I AM BOLD is a warm-toned fuchsia that could easily be placed in my everyday makeup bag. If you've been here for a while, you know I brake for fuchsia lipsticks, especially if they are long-lasting. This lipstick has more of a satin finish, compared to I AM FIERCE. And though it looks very similar to FIERCE, it is much more pink and a tad creamier. For those of you who may be looking in your stash to see if you have a dupe before purchasing, the only true dupe I can think of in color would be ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Skyfall. 
I AM POWERFUL is a cool-toned deep berry that packs a powerful punch of pigment (try that on for a tongue-twister). This beautiful lipstick applies smoothly, gives great color payoff in just a few swipes, and stays put! And when I say it stays put, it lasts me all morning, throughout lunch at Panera Bread (yes, through my broccoli & cheddar soup), and all through my son's basketball games in the evening. As far as color goes, it is very similar to my ColourPop Matte Lux Lipstick in Doin' Fine and Wet N Wild MegaLast Lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy. However, this formula applies a bit more smoothly than the others.
So do the Milani Bold Color Statement Matte Lipsticks hold a special place in my makeup bag? Yes, they absolutely do. While the shades in the 17 piece collection aren't revolutionary shades I haven't seen before, the formula of these lipsticks is one that I will choose time and time again. The color payoff is excellent. They are long-lasting AND non-drying. They hold the faint, yet sweet scent of vanilla. And with the sweet price of $6.99, I can add more to my collection without breaking the bank! I love these lipsticks and will be purchasing more.
