In my last skincare post, I shared my simple morning skincare routine with you guys. And while I admit to sticking to the same formula throughout the seasons, hydration is an absolute must for even the oiliest skin in the winter. I make sure to target my trouble areas, such as the hyperpigmentation on my chin, in conjunction with keeping my skin lush and hydrated.
In my evening skincare routine, only a couple of steps are altered from the morning routine. My biggest concerns at night are thoroughly removing any debris from the day and targeting hyperpigmentation overnight. And with this easy, low-maintenance regimen, I've been able to do this well. Read below to check out the full details of my current evening skincare routine.
The Products
1. BYROE Rice Cleansing Sorbet- This is one of the most luxurious products I've ever used! This sorbet transforms into an oil as it is applied into the skin, melting the day's makeup, sweat, and everything else from your face. It rinses off so beautifully with warm water, leaving the skin feeling supple.
(Looking for a more cost-friendly alternative? Try The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Rich Cleansing Light Oil).
2. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin- This cleanser contains ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid, which help protect the skin's moisture barrier without clogging the pores.
3. Heritage Store Rose Petals Rosewater Facial Toner- This is one of the best toners I've ever used in my life. It balances my skin without stripping it with harsh ingredients or alcohol.
4. The Ordinary Mandelic Acid + 10% HA- I've alternated between this gentle exfoliating alpha hydroxy acid and lactic acid for the last couple of years and my skin loves it! After just a few weeks of use, my skin feels and appears more smooth and bright! It unclogs pores and reduces inflammation as well.
5. Ladykin Affinitic Snail Cream- if you're looking for a lightweight moisturizer that moisturizes oily skin without feeling heavy, give this a try. It contains 80% snail secretion, which aids in hydration + skin regeneration and promotes collagen production. Leaves my skin soft and hydrated with just a little product. Plus the packaging is the cutest!

The Regimen
To remove makeup, sunscreen, or anything that has settled on my face throughout the day, I do my first cleanse with BYROE Rice Cleansing Sorbet. Using the small spatula in the container, I remove a nickel-size amount from the jar and massage the sorbet into my skin until it becomes an oil. After massaging until I feel like I've evenly applied it all over, I rinse my face thoroughly with warm water.
Then I cleanse with CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin. I thoroughly massage the cleanser into my skin using the 60 second rule I learned from LaBeautyologist.
After thoroughly double-cleansing, I balance my skin by using Heritage Store Rose Petals Rosewater Facial Toner. I apply a few drops to a cotton disk and massage it into my skin all over my face and neck. This is the only toner I use when applying direct acids at night.
Now, for the main step that differs from the morning routine--- my beloved mandelic acid. Once my toner completely dries (and I've sang through an entire Janet Jackson track, most likely) I apply a few drops of The Ordinary Mandelic Acid + 10% HA all over my face. I won't lie, I pay special attention to the hyperpigmentation on my chin when I'm rubbing it in, too. And my skin loves me for it!
Once the mandelic acid settles into my skin for a few minutes, I apply a very small bit of the Ladykin Affinitic Snail Cream into my skin in a thin layer. I feel like it locks my serum in and gives me that extra layer of hydration I need, as direct acids (if they aren't formulated with hyaluronic acid) can be drying on the skin.
I try to begin my evening skincare routine a couple of hours before bed so that my skin can start reaping the benefits well before my face hits the pillow. Also, I never want to waste all my precious product on the case as I toss and turn throughout the night.
But can I be all the way real and tell you what the best part about this entire routine is? It is, hands-down, how soft and glowing my skin looks in the morning. If you've been around here for a while, you already know how I get down. Baby, it's the GLOW for me! Even hubby and the kids have made comments about how great my skin looks when I wake up.
