It's no secret that we love a high-quality wig around here. Since growing out my natural tapered cut, I've been wearing braids and wigs to protect my natural hair from the elements. And as much as I love wearing lace front wigs, all of them are not created equally. Some don't have the parting space I need. Others don't have the density to rock the full look I usually go for. And I'm not always able to find a nice, HD lace that melts perfectly around my hairline with minimal effort. The Wig's Arrival + Packaging
My WOWANGEL Celebrity Series Wig came to my doorstep in a matter of days, packaged so lovely in this pretty pink box. Inside the box, the brand includes a brochure about the wigs, a wig band, wig caps, and hair clips that help with the wig installation.
Wig Specifics
The wig I received is the Straight HD Lace Frontal Pre-Plucked Wig in 30 inches. This wig is 100% Virgin Remy hair with a density of 250%. It has two adjustable straps and contains four combs inside for a comfortable, secure fit. The cap is very light and breathable, making it comfortable during the warm and cool months. The virgin hair can be dyed, bleached, and restyled in any way you'd like. It is also very soft, easy to style, and does not shed.
What is most noticeable about this wig, for me, is the hairline. The HD lace at the front is thin and nearly invisible! But because this lace is so thin and delicate, one must be careful when cutting and manipulating it.
How I Install the Wig
I installed my WOWANGEL HD LACE WIG employing the bald cap method, using one of the wig caps that came in my WOWANGEL package. This made my wig so easy to install, as the wig cap was thin, and the lace surrounding the wig's hairline is very delicate.
This particular wig is pre-plucked, so I didn't have to bother with plucking or bleaching any knots. Another person may choose to alter their wig according to their own personal preferences, but for me, I didn't feel it was necessary. I basically adjusted my wig along my hairline with the help of my Freeze Hair Spray. After allowing time for the hairline to melt with the WOWANGEL wig band that came in my package, I was able to style my hair and go! I didn't even make any baby hairs for my initial wearing of the wig.
The Overall Look
Since installing this wig, I have been in love with how easy the upkeep is! All I've done to this wig is secure the hairline, adjust the straps and combs to my liking, and pressed the hair with my flat iron. To give the hair a bit of style, I eventually bumped the ends with a large barrel curling wand.
Overall Thoughts About The Wig
Quite honestly, I've fallen head over heels for this wig, you guys. She doesn't shed. I have combed her every which way but loose. And I love the way she blows beautifully in any breeze she finds herself in. With a bit of taming from my brush, she behaves with no problem. And I've received so many compliments since installing her. She's a beautiful look and does not take much effort to look her best.
Because she has great density, she isn't too full, but is not thin either. The wig has a realistic look and feel without being heavy or too light. And though she nearly grazes my waist when sitting down, she doesn't tangle. As a short woman, I really love and appreciate that.
